What It’s All About…

I am in London at the moment preparing to blast off for Italy, and last night I was lucky enough to meet with the head of a hematology/oncology unit at Hammersmith Hospital. It was WONDERFUL to hear him speak and tell me how helpful your donations have been to the DIRECT clinical care and DIRECT funding of leukemia research through Leuka. We really are making a difference!

Though I’m usually not in front of a camera lens, preferring to hide behind it, I wanted to share this beautiful short film (created by my talented friend Markus Neuert AKA Cyclefilm). Please pardon my emotions in the beginning there. What you’re seeing is so real: exhaustion, passion and an inability to speak about why I’m riding without tearing up. The film captures so much of what we are trying to achieve by riding day after day after day through the Alps. Please watch, and if you can, please donate a little to the cause. We’re almost to our goal.

Additionally, this short edit of our ride in the mountains is a great example of the extremes we face riding through the high Alps this early in the year. Kudos to Mark Jenkinson for his capture, edit and real life rescue. It’s a challenge, but we know we’re not alone. Thanks as always for your continued support!
