Mount Washington Hotel Wedding Photography: Maren & Andy

The complete set of photos are available for viewing/ordering online here.  We’ve already posted all these blog photos (and plenty more) to our Facebook page, so there are dozens of photos ready for you to tag & “like” as you wish.

Andy & Maren with Mt. Washington in the background.

We love the White Mountains of New Hampshire; I grew up exploring these mountains, climbing the cliff faces and paddling in the nearby rivers.  We’ve been lucky enough to support many, many weddings at one of our favorite locations: The Omni Mount Washington Hotel at Bretton Woods.  The hotel has so much old school charm, with beautiful architecture and facilities, but our favorite part of photographing there is simply the incredible view just out the back door of Mount Washington.

Maren’s engagement ring and the map that was included in their invitations.

We were thrilled when Maren & Andy contacted us to photograph their wedding last year.  Like Malia and I, these two met while attending Bowdoin College… and it only made sense for them to return to New England to celebrate their marriage.

Getting Ready

Final touches.

Bridesmaids bouquets.

Waiting to see her groom.

This is Andy moments before seeing Maren for the first time.

And when he opened his eyes… this is what he saw. Beautiful.

Their wedding bands.

Andy’s parents in the last moments before the ceremony.

Maren’s dad walks her down the aisle.

The big moment, from the opposite view.

Her dad was pretty incredible: fun, genuine and holding back tears as he gave his daughter away.

The big sky of The White Mountains.

Andy’s sister played a song during the ceremony.

An extra kiss following the ceremony.

Andy and his dad.

Maren’s beautiful grandmother.

Twilight at The Mount Washington Hotel.

Just soaking in the view at sunset.

Mountains in the back, campfire in the foreground. Not a bad location.

Sometimes we meet couples who are so comfortable with each other, so happy in the moment… that they just forget all about us. This spontaneous embrace is wonderful, with The White Mountains in the distance.

First dance.

Grandma has still got it. Quite the dancer!

Her new grandson in law is close on her heels though…

No idea what is going on here. Maybe it’s better that way.

The ever popular photobooth is back… and each time we bring it to a wedding, we’re convinced that we’ve seen it all.  But when you put 100 guests in a room to celebrate a wedding, the creative vibes just seem to kick in.

The Photobooth always starts off so sweet…

Then it starts to pick up pace.

And then Captain Creativity appears.

Thank God for this guy. He was awesome.

Once again, a return to something appropriate with the groom’s mom in the center.

Then the creativity sneaks in again… but in a sweet way.

Then a younger brother comes in and just turns everything upside down.

We don’t ask… we just document what happens.

The groom’s family. It was so wonderful to see how much fun they had together.

Trying to get out of the shot… almost.

Andy’s parents.

I’m guessing someone woke up with bruises after this late night idea.

For all the photographers out there: YES, that is a fragile $300 radio trigger that this very enthusiastic guest has accidentally ripped out of it’s protective case. I am trying in vain to get it back from her… but it took a few minutes. So funny.

What a great time!!!  THANK YOU to Maren, Andy… and thanks to your families as well as your incredible guests for making us feel so welcome and letting us share in the beauty (and laughter) of the day.  It was an incredible wedding and we were truly honored to be there to document the story.  #goubears
