Newagen Seaside Inn Wedding: Jen & Derick

A rainy, cold, WINDY October wedding day at The Newagen Seaside Inn on Southport Island near Boothbay Harbor, Maine.  Did I mention the wind?  It was blowing a full gale, but Jen and Derick weren’t worried in the least.  I don’t know what it is about the clients we get to work with… but we really don’t get the “bridezillas” of the world.  Instead, we get folks like Jen & Derick, who are quick to laugh, who aren’t intimidated by a little (lot) of wind/rain and who manage to create an intimate, fun, very beautiful celebration at one of the most incredible locations on the planet… regardless of the conditions!

Wedding rings and lobster claws. Nothing more “Maine Wedding” than that.

They designed their own wedding invitations.

A gorgeous autumn bouquet.

Detail: The texture of the faded paint and the texture of her wedding dress.

Getting ready.

The gorgeous view from The Newagen Inn.

One last look.

Flower girls.

Walking down the aisle with her father.

Happy groom!

Happy bride!

It was so windy that the bridesmaid’s dresses flapped violently in the wind. This is a slow exposure to document the movement.

The ceremony.

Walking back down the aisle. Husband and wife!

Another look at Jen’s bouquet.

Lobster buoys and a happy wedding couple at The Newagen Inn!

Out on the rocks… in the middle of a gale!

Stormy seas, but happy together!

Bare feet! One tough bride!

For their first dance, they tangoed!

The table cards were actually small local jars of jam. Great touch!

Derick works as an art director, and one of his (talented) colleagues created this 1930’s looking custom poster of the bride and groom in front of Burnt Island Lighthouse. I love working with creative people!

A different look at a wedding cake. I love the glow!

Another view of the cake.

Ok, enough of the details… this girl wants to dance. Or fly!

A favorite aunt dancing to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”.

More “dancing” I think.

Joy!

Jen & Derick: Thanks so much for having us at your wedding.  Have fun on your honeymoon to Patagonia!!  I can’t wait to hear all about your adventures!  Thank you to all your friends and family as well for including us and being so welcoming.  It was an absolute pleasure to support you all!
